Lifeform is a game of survival horror for up to 4 players. One player is an unstoppable, utterly hostile alien. All other players are the crew of the doomed mining starship Valley Forge.

Squeaking ever closer to that £50K mark. I know you're all out there, keeping us in suspense as to whether or not you're gonna smash the next stretchie - yeah, I've seen your tricks before and I know your game! I'm just going to have to hold my breath and stay patient and celebrate...
1,000+ backers!!!
Yes! That is truly epic. Over a thousand connoisseurs of gaming hoisting us upon their shoulders to march us down to the printers and simply demand that this game get made asap. It's a stirring sight and a worthy endeavour and I continue to be so proud to be a part of all of this. As does another man who is equally delighted with the campaign so far...

Why don't you try and shut us up?? You can't can you - and if there's one thing we love to yak about it's great games! Boardgamers Anonymous sat down to grill us about Lifeform in the Every Night is Game Night podcast, check out their latest episode - Lifeform featuring designer Mark Chaplin and Tristan Hall:
Continuing the theme of only giving you one (or two) link(s) to share - please help us out on BoardGameGeek today! We are sorely in need of thumbs and attention and cuddles but mostly your green thumb clicks. If you can bob over and just pick a couple of your favourite images and show them some love by clicking the green thumb - and maybe even dropping in a comment or two if you feel like it - it helps keep us near the front page and in everyone's minds:
"I love sci-fi horror and while I'm no Alien universe expert, I enjoy the movies. This game really evokes that feeling when I look at it and how the mechanics work. Also, it reminds me of when I try to play Alien: Isolation and spend a lot of time hiding in cabinets and lockers, only to get grabbed by the alien because I let my character breathe too soon" - Mary McMurtrey
We've been reading the "Why You Backed" stories in the comments section. If you'd like to share too, just post your reason(s) in the comments - it can be as serious, funny, obsequious, insulting or insane as you like - just pop your stream of consciousness ramblings into the comments and we'll sift for gold as and when we get chance...
That's all for now, and remember...

Lifeform Update #10 - In space no one can hear you scream

Whassup??
Hope you had (and that you're still having) a wonderful weekend. We had a brief window of sunshine in Manchester yesterday which meant a race to get the BBQ fired up and some sausages, burgers and cocktails on before the inevitable relapse into overcast misty gloom. Whilst it lasted it was quite glorious indeed. Here's a pic of me igniting the barbie:

Okay, so picking up again after a slower weekend but still nicely on track at this point in the campaign, and we still have a few cool surprises before this thing is over. So let's tighten our seat-belts for now and hope that the escape shuttle's plotted course won't leave us floating in space for 57 years, like a certain kickass female lead who was taking cheques and showing us how it's done decades before Gal Gadot was being shown the ropes by Chris Pine... Um. Where was I? Oh yeah...
Lifeform Designer Diary #4 - The Mainframe secondary role
Lifeform game designer Mark Chaplin gives us some design insights and his thoughts behind the Mainframe Computer secondary role, one of the cool roles that a crew player can take on should they lose their humans to the Lifeform's insatiable hunger - this is such a cool and clever alternative to dealing with player elimination. Grab a brew and put your feet up once again and join Mark for this Designer Diary.
Calling all Redditors - Reddit Links!!
Continuing the theme of only giving you one (or two) link(s) to share - please help us out on Reddit! We don't have much of a presence there but we'd be happy to get involved with an AMA or wear a trilby or something similar - message us or comment if you think you can help us out, and in the meantime here are the Reddit links that our champion backer Nick Hughes posted up for you to share:
"The ships cat and SIS-TER were the tipping point for backing this project. Seeing the play-through multiplayer and solo play helped, but possible player elimination rested like a subconscious seed of doubt. Listening to Mark's designer commentaries, his enthusiasm and thoughtful design choices added more weight to the choice to back too. Can't wait" - Solar

Podcasts!!
In case you missed it here's the fantastic Cardboard Herald's interview with us about Lifeform:
We're Not Wizards actually let us back on their podcast too! Great discussion about, amongst other things, Lifeform, with Richard Simpson, Mark Chaplin and myself:
As mentioned in an earlier update, Mark and I will be demoing Lifeform in Manchester on the dates below, so please come along and support us if you can. But if you can't make it for some reason don't worry too much, because - Wi-Fi willing - we'll try to post up some Kickstarter Live and Facebook Live updates throughout the days to show you what we can of the demos and what's happening. (Editor's wife's note: Spare a thought for poor Mrs NinjaDorg who will be filming for her life on her I-Phone as well as carrying out her chauffeur duties and doing the sandwich runs.)
Then after being spoilt by the good folks at Fanboy3 we'll be demoing like busy bees the very next day in Travelling Man, Manchester: (Editor's wife's note: so spare another thought for poor Mrs NinjaDorg who will be stuck in Another Day in Paradise filming for her life on her I-Phone, carrying out her chauffeur duties and doing the sandwich runs..)
It would be great to see you there if you can make it. There's still plenty of time to book your flights! :)
Designer Video Diary #3 - The Ship's Cat
Mark Chaplin shares more of his thoughts on the design and unique selling points of Lifeform, this time delving into the much touted secondary role of playing the Ship's Cat, which has proven very popular in play-testing, and is such a cool and clever alternative to dealing with player elimination. Kicktraq Link!!
Continuing the theme of only giving you one link to share - this got us right back up on the Kicktraq Hotness last time so let's try it again. Please remove any bookmark you have for this project for now and replace it with this link, it will mean one extra click for you when you're checking in but will increase our listing on Kicktraq:
"Why I backed? Because Alien is in a three-way tie for 2nd favorite movie, because asymmetrical hidden movement is totally my jam, and because Mark designed the only true board game adaptation of one of the other movies in that three-way tie. I'm so excited to have nothing hear me scream" - Colin Booth
