US Shipping Update - US Backers Only!!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Aug 08, 2019 at 02:18:20 AM

To all of our American friends!

Remember when Ripley was floating in space for 57 years? Well it looks like our US stock of Lifeform has been on a similar journey. QML has had our stock of Lifeform in their warehouse for well over a month now. QML is not entirely to blame - evidently there was a misunderstanding between Gamesquest and QML about when everything was supposed to ship out (some time ago) versus when QML was actually able to schedule it in for fulfilment, which they have now confirmed - for definite - is going to be 12th August.

For a fulfilment run of this size QML have been known to be able to clear everything out of their warehouse within a day or two, so fingers crossed they can pull it out of the bag in short order and get your games out to you asap.

That said, this is far from the original estimated delivery date and for that I apologise.

If you’re feeling frustrated about this, believe me, I feel you. Having waited so blooming long to get this game to you guys only to have our hands tied at the last possible hurdle is monumentally annoying. We’ve expressed our disappointment to the parties involved whilst at GenCon this weekend and steps have been taken to ensure that this does not happen again.

So now all we have to do is hold out for this final stretch with the patience, enthusiasm, and good humour that you lovely Americans (and all of our backers for that matter) have shown in crazy abundance throughout this campaign.

Thanks again so much for your support and understanding,

Tristan xx

Lifeform, July 2019 - Final Update!
over 5 years ago – Sun, Jul 21, 2019 at 02:28:41 AM

Howdy Space Miners!

It's a bittersweet post this time as our deep space mission finally comes to an end, but with the joyous result being the horrific monster we've all collectively birthed together that is the beauteous Lifeform!

RoW, UK, Oz and EU Fulfilment has been underway throughout July with US shipping due to start on 22nd July, so most of you will have your copies of Lifeform in hand very soon indeed. In fact many of you already have your games, with session reports and photos drifting in on the interwebs already along with a slew of Unboxing videos (see below).

Reaching into the Dragon's Domain!

Lifeform Design Guru, Signore Mark Chaplin has kindly put together this collection of solo mode play-through videos from the Dragon's Domain expansion for your viewing pleasure:

Dragon's Domain Attack Tokens

Due to human error the four 'Attack 1' tokens in Dragon's Domain were all printed red when they should have been one of each colour.

This issue only affects the minority of backers who ordered the solo 'Dragon's Domain' expansion but NOT the '13th Passenger' expansion, because the correctly printed tokens ARE included with 13th Passenger.

If you are affected, please accept our apologies. I've included the imagery below so you can print them locally and stick them to both sides of your 4 red 'Attack 1' tokens; and we are looking into more comprehensive solution options too. I've included the imagery for the red token as well so that you don't 'feel' the difference whilst shuffling the tokens.

The correct 'Attack 1' tokens for Dragon's Domain.

13th Passenger Expansion and Dragon's Domain expansions available in limited quantities

We've had a number of enquiries about whether or not the Dragon's Domain and 13th Passenger expansions are still available and the answer to this is yes. We still have very limited numbers of both the 13th Passenger and the Dragon's Domain expansions - and a few playmats too - available at the following link:

Unboxing Videos!

And now the Unboxings have started around the world. First up is the Lifeform unboxing by the beautiful We're Not Wizards -

And here's a Lifeform Unboxing video from the splendid Mike B @WhoDaresRolls -

And our strangest Lifeform Unboxing video yet, thanks to the lovely Tor Gjerde -

Thank you!!

It bears repeating: thank you so much to all of you for making this happen. You let us keep doing what we love and it means the absolute world to us to be able to continue making games. Thank you to all of you for sharing, commenting, tweeting, blasting social media with your game pics, hitting us up with questions, answering each other's rules questions - often before we can, making us laugh, saying hello to us at conventions, and being so blooming friendly, and for propping us up and carrying us when we're exhausted.

You guys make this the best job in the world.

And that, my dearest, doomed, space-mining compadres, is that!

This brings to a close our Lifeform campaign, but begins the first of our many sweet journeys into the forbidden seas of deep space for decades to come. We're extremely proud of having the privilege to bring Mark Chaplin's glorious magnum opus to the masses, and we hope you've enjoyed navigating this deadly mission as much as we have.

As always, we'll be here for your questions and rules queries and comments and sessions and reviews and memes and tweets and rants and raves and what-have-yous, here in the comments section, over on BGG, and in the official Facebook group:

Lifeform, June 2019 - Addresses will be locked tomorrow!!
over 5 years ago – Wed, Jun 26, 2019 at 02:56:39 AM

Greetings fellow spacesuit-sporting meatbags!!

The eagerly awaited Lifeform continues its passage from the East…

We are but weeks away from distribution, and these are giddy times for us and for those of you anticipating Lifeform’s final destination - into your welcome arms to be spread before weekly game nights and discussed on gaming forums of your choice. The time to be pulling on the clobber of a doomed Valley Forge starship crew member and plunging forth into the horror and darkness manifest in an intergalactic nightmare of survival, suspense and alien skulduggery draws ever closer. In fact, all of our freight ships are landing very soon (if not already) and the unloading of deadly Lifeforms is imminent...

The final warning has been sent out to confirm your delivery address!!

You now have until tomorrow to ensure your address is up to date.

Please check your junk mail if you haven't received anything, or email us directly if you need to change your address: francesca at hallornothingproductions.co.uk

Please do NOT email us after tomorrow because then it will be too late - by Thursday your details will already have been passed to our fulfilment teams.

Address is sorted - what happens now?

It can still take a couple of weeks to clear all the games through our hubs, and then they have to prioritise their projects before fulfilment commences in earnest from our hubs directly to you guys. But the upshot is: not too at all long now, in fact we aim to have the majority of you playing your copies of Lifeform before the end of July! Which is why we absolutely need you to check your address information now so that everything goes as smoothly as possible for everybody.

So what else has been going on with Hall or Nothing Productions? If you are so inclined dear reader, then please read on...

Lifeforms stalk the halls at UK Games Expo 2019

What an absolute belter of a time we had at UK Games Expo! Meeting an excess of cool gamers and talking everything gameage for an entire weekend is what it’s all about. We returned home hoarse of throat and physical wrecks, but also mightily happy of heart.

UKGE is the largest of its kind in the UK and this year 25,000 gaming enthusiasts surged hither and thither; they demoed; they purchased; they shared friendly guffaws with the myriad stall holders and one another alike. The thronging of like-minded and convivial gaming aficionados’ let loose in the wild was a joy to behold, albeit briefly, as the team were mostly brains and personage fully focused on the Hall or Nothing stand.

BoardChitless' Leki Williams, Tristan Hall, Francesca Hall, Samwise Gamgee Lawton, and Lifeform designer Mark Chaplin all pitching in to help man the Hall or Nothing stand at UKGE

We were quite metaphorically swamped with board game connoisseurs and gave demos galore over the 3 days until our fingers were demoed to the bone. By Saturday morning, all the stock we’d packed in the back of the Hall mobile and driven down to Birmingham had sold out! Let that be a lesson to us for next year’s expo – Kickstarter for a van?!

Over the course of what was a gargantuan game storm hitting Brum we showcased Shadows of Kilforth, 1066, Tears to Many Mothers, Gloom of Kilforth (which holds a special place in our big game designing/music composing hearts), as well as Mark Chaplin’s awesome Lifeform. I have to say that the team were happy as clams to see so much interest in HoN’s upcoming games, indeed our chests swelled with pride whenever one of you goodly gamers graced us with a kindly comment or expressed your enthusiasm - the support was massively appreciated.

Sliding on, the aforementioned upcomers soon to move from cogitated conception to actual, nuts and bolts entity are 1565, St. Elmo’s Pay and Veilwrath. Both are progressing well, and Sublime Dark is very much off the starting blocks.

As the dust of 50,000 feet settled on our well-attended booth and our cream crackered game faces, the general consensus was that the UKGE 2019 went swimmingly. Thanks to all who patronised the Hall or Nothing booth and played along; it was a beautiful, frenetic cardboard blowout!

Keep the comments coming…

Crikey O’ Moses! A barrel load of amazing, positive reviews and play-throughs of HoN games have been rolling in! A special mention to the righteous Ricky Royal of Box of Delights doing a solo play-through of 1066, Tears of Many Mothers - wrap your eyes around this when you get the chance:

Gearing up for 1565, St. Elmo’s Pay Kickstarter…

And so, back to business. With swords drawn at the ready, fingertips poised over the keyboard (less dramatic but the damp squib of a 21st century existence), we will shortly be launching our next Kickstarter for 1565, St. Elmo’s Pay...

Turgut's Corsairs are not to be messed with...
Turgut's Corsairs are not to be messed with...

1565, St. Elmo’s Pay is successor to the award-nominated 1066, Tears of Many Mothers, with which it is fully compatible. This is an asymmetric, competitive, tactical card game wherein each player, as either Ottoman Turks or Knights of St John, becomes part of legend. Troops and resources are mustered on both sides to overcome a deluge of obstacles in their path before the two armies clash in an epic siege of bloodshed, sheer heroism and military strategy over three fronts on the tiny island of Malta: Birgu, Senglea, and the doomed fortress of St. Elmo. This is where you help to prop up our dreams and turn medieval imaginings into real reality. Therefore, ready yourselves dear friends, as we prepare to launch ourselves back into the fray.
